Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh went ballistic on air Tuesday over President Obama’s comments at a fundraiser Monday night when he accused Romney of “reverse Robin Hood” tactics, i.e. taking money from the poor to give to the rich. For Limbaugh, Robin Hood would have been a Tea Party member.

“So many people misunderstand what Robin Hood was all about,” Limbaugh said. “Robin Hood was stealing from the government. Robin Hood was a Tea Party activist. He was anti-taxes.”

According to Limbaugh, the President is misusing the story, focusing on Robin Hood helping the poor, “and take back [the money] to [Maid] Marian so she would put out,” not on the part that shows the government as a villain.

“When I was growing up, the Sheriff was the evil guy,” Limbaugh said.
