Romney Made That Same 'I'm Not Concerned About The Very Poor' Gaffe Months Ago

You may recall that yesterday Mitt Romney made a terrible gaffe yesterday on CNN:

“I’m not concerned about the very poor. We have a safety net there. If it needs a repair, I’ll fix it. I’m not concerned about the very rich … I’m concerned about the very heart of America, the 90-95 per cent of Americans who right now are struggling.”

Turns out that this is just the way Mitt Romney thinks.

Politically, the problem isn’t necessarily the substance–almost no one votes on poverty issues– but the overwhelming sense that Romney says these gauche out-of-touch things all the time.

Here he is back in October expressing the same exact thought in almost the same exact words. And there is a good chance the Obama campaign will cut the two clips together in attack ads this fall.
