Roger Federer Now Basically Admits His William-Tell Knock-Can-Off-Head-With-Serve Trick Was Fake

Federer Bottle Head

Remember that amazing viral video going around two days ago of Roger Federer knocking a can off a guy’s head with his serve in a photo shoot for Gillette?

We do.

Initially, a posting on Federer’s web site suggested the video was real.

Now, Federer himself suggests that it was fake.

Asked directly after last night’s match at the Cincinnati Masters whether the video was real, Federer responded:

“Not saying that… a magician doesn’t tell how his tricks work.”

Translation: It was a Gillette viral video gimmick.

Feel dumb for even considering the possibility that it was real?  So do we.  Next time, we’re buying a Schick.
