The Washington Redskins clinched a trip to the playoffs for the first time since 2005 on Sunday, and they seem to be enjoying the prospects of a shot at a Super Bowl run.
On Wednesday, during head coach Mike Shanahan’s weekly press conference, Robert Griffin III weaseled his way to the back of the press room and asked about his New Year’s. Shanahan cracked up when he realised who it was before nailing the response. (H/T Shutdown Corner)
“I tried to put a good game plan together,” Shanahan said. “I wasn’t sure how healthy you were, so it was hard without you calling me.”
Griffin has been dealing with a sprained lateral collateral ligament in his right knee since the injury took place in early December against the Baltimore Ravens. He’s listed as probable for this weekend’s playoff matchup against Seattle and is expected to wear a brace on that knee.
But Griffin and Shanahan both still seem to be in high spirits. Watch the quick back-and-forth below:
