A Republican senator dodged questions from sexual assault survivors by hiding in a men’s bathroom after the group confronted him at Ronald Reagan National Airport in Washington, DC.
Georgia senator David Perdue was approached by the women on Monday, and they asked him whether he would vote to approve Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh amid claims of sexual misconduct.
The three women have been identified as sexual-assault survivors Patti Serrano and Jennifer Epps-Addison, of the Center for Popular Democracy advocacy group, along with Arizona State Representative Isela Blanc, according to The Cut.

“You don’t feel like you have to answer any questions to people who have come out about their sexual assaults?” one of the women asked.
Another said: “You represent not just your state’s choice, but every American in this country, and every person that is vulnerable. This is a legacy, and a moment in history that will not be forgotten.”
Perdue did not respond to the women and instead walked into a men’s bathroom.
A spokeswoman for Perdue told 11 Alive: “Senator Perdue is always willing to hear from all sides, but certainly, there is a more productive way to have these conversations.”
The confrontation comes days after Republican senator Jeff Flake was confronted in an elevator by sexual assault survivors who urged him to reconsider approving Kavanaugh’s confirmation.
