UPDATE: Derivatives resumed trading after being shut down for 95 minutes. The Tokyo Stock Exchange had halted trading in derivatives due to a system error, Bloomberg reported.

This included trading in TOPIX and JGB futures contracts.

Meanwhile, stocks on the TSE are trading normally.  The Nikkei 225 index is up 0.5%.

Earlier during Europe’s Monday trading session, the Spanish stock market was shut down for hours due to glitches.

The time of both glitches seems to be an odd coincidence.
