Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson will reportedly announce on Wednesday that he does not see a “path forward” for his campaign, according to The Washington Post.
But Carson will reportedly stop short of formally droping out of the race for the Republican presidential nomination.
Carson’s campaign briefly took off in the fall before his support dropped off and many of his top staffers left.
Sources told The Post that Carson will not attend the next Republican debate on Thursday but that he plans to speak at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Maryland on Friday.
Carson’s announcement will come a day after a disappointing showing in the Super Tuesday primary and caucus contests. Carson has not won a single primary or caucus contest so far.
