RenTec Is Killing This Year

The super-secretive $19 billion hedge fund Renaissance Technology, whose founder Jim Simons recently retired, is still killing it with out him, the New York Post reported.

RenTec’s Renaissance Institutional Equities Fund, which has $6.1 billion AUM, is up 31% YTD, the report said.

Simons, the former MIT and Harvard maths professor with a net worth of $10.6 billion, retired from RenTec in 2009.  (Meet the firm’s 2 new leaders here >)

The strong performance is good news for the billionaire former hedge fund manager because he still has his investment in RenTec.
