Red wine may actually be good for people who lead a “sedentary lifestyle,” according to a new scientific study (Decanter via Zagat Buzz). The study was done by scientists looking to determine whether reservatrol, an antioxidant found in most red wine, could help astronauts who were suffering from the combined effects of weightlessness and inactivity, according to Decanter.

They found that mice dosed with resveratrol experienced an increase muscle and bone mass, which can prevent the risk of osteoporosis.

The study was published in the journal of the Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology.

One glass of red wine contains about 1mg of resveratrol, while reservatrol supplements contain 15mg to 500mg per capsule, according to Decanter.
