Spanish soccer giants Real Madrid signed a seven-year-old Argetine prospect named Leonel Angel Coira last week. The little guy already has a one-name soccer nickname — Leo — and he will begin training with the club on September 6th.
European clubs have highly evolved youth academies that identify prospects at a young age and turn them into soccer fiends. But even by those standards, seven is really young.
The Spanish publication Marca reported that it was the club’s youngest-ever signing, but club officials denied that to the AP.
Leo was also being pursued by Atletico Madrid.
So keep an eye out for him in the 2030-31 La Liga season.
