Check Out Rap Genius, The Song Lyrics Site That Andreessen Horowitz Just Poured $15 Million Into

Andreessen Horowitz just invested $15 million into Rap Genius, a Wikipedia-like platform for explaining song lyrics.

While the word “rap” is in the name, the site isn’t specific to hip-hop. We took it for a test run with Bob Dylan’s “Subterranean Homesick Blues,” a song with some absurdly obscure lyrics, to see how it works.

Navigating to a song page displays that song’s lyrics:

You can click on any lyrics in orange to get a quick explainer on them:

For the lyrics that appear in white, you can highlight them and add your own explanation:
