WATCH: Stephen Colbert Wants Mitt Romney To Be 'Jazzed' About His Olympic Dressage Horse

Stephen Colbert mocked Mitt Romney and conservative pundits for downplaying their interest in the Romney family’s Olympic dressage horse, Rafalca, on a segment of The Colbert Report Monday.

Last week, Romney told NBC’s Brian Williams that he was “not even sure which day the sport goes on.” Colbert couldn’t believe it.

“Mitt is jazzed,” Colbert said, after showing the interview clip. “He just doesn’t know that much about the sport. When’s it on? What’s it called? What’s a horse? Who’s that woman who’s always hanging out with me at the breakfast table?”

Colbert said he expected the “liberal critics to call [dressage] elitist,” but he was horrified by the conservative response. A Fox News contributor said “[dressage is] the most upper class, hoity-toity Olympic event ever invented.”

“How dare you, sir,” Colbert said. “Dressage isn’t hoity-toity, it’s frou-frou. Get your facts straight.”

Then Colbert went one step further, meeting with U.S. Olympic dressage coach to find out why dressage is truly “Joe Six-Pack’s” sport.
