Quick Mobile Typing Solution Swype Gets Acquired For $102.5 Million

Swype, a Seattle-based easy mobile typing solution, has been acquired for $102,500,000 by Nuance.Mike Arrington broke the news last night with a ballpark figure of $100 million+; it was his first scoop on Uncrunched.

The Swype technology traces fingers across mobile keypads and accurately guesses the words you’re trying to type.

Swype was cofounded by Cliff Kushler, who also invented T9 technology. Nuance also owns T9.
