On July 27th in London, England, the Games of the XXX Olympiad will begin.The summer Olympics of the modern era began in 1896 in Athens, Greece, and barring the Games missed due to World War I and II, the Games have been contested every four years since.

In some aspects, the Olympics have modernized tremendously, but the spirit of the Games is the same as it was a century ago.
