No one knows what to make out of Oklahoma City’s blowout win over San Antonio last night.
On the one hand, the Thunder made some nice defensive adjustments that had San Antonio baffled. So maybe OKC figured something out that will turn this series around.
But here’s the more likely answer: Every team lays an egg once in a while. Before last night, the Spurs had won 20 games in a row and hadn’t had a single off night since mid-April.
Sometimes it’s just not your night, and there’s nothing you can do about it.
Tim Duncan had two rebounds. Tony Parker had more turnovers than assists. And Manu Ginobli took five shots total. There’s no way all three of those guys stink it up again this series.
Here’s Spurs coach Gregg Popovich, perfectly illustrating the hopelessness of the “off night.”
