With an $18 million pot for the winner, the One Drop poker tournament this week was the highest-paying poker tournament of all time. Scores of celebrities and millionaires took part, as did nearly 30 poker pros. Two pros ended up coming in 1st and 2nd: Persian-American Antonio Esfandiari took home the $18 million grand prize while Brit Sam Trickett took 2nd place and a not-so-shabby $10 million stack of cash.
For Trickett, this is where things took a turn for the worse. After tweeting in celebration, “Time to go drink until my organs hurt,” Trickett did just that.
According to the New York Daily News, Trickett was attacked by a group of six men after they verbally assaulted his girlfriend — Natasha Sandhu — at a Las Vegas club. No money was reported stolen from the plumber-turned-poker pro.
Trickett did what any hurting, right-minded individual would do after taking a beating: he took to Twitter to vent and post pictures of his war wounds.
According to her profile, she’s a “very lucky girl.” If your boyfriend wins $10 million, you are indeed a lucky girl.
