The signs keep mounting that the decline in Australian house prices is gathering pace.

Where will it all end?

This is the starting point for this week’s episode of our markets and economics podcast, Devils and Details. We’re joined by Stephen Koukoulas, managing director at Market Economics and a former chief economist at Citi. Koukoulas is one of the few economists in the country who will say publicly he thinks the central bank should be cutting interest rates — and he explains some of his rationale for that on the show.

We also talk about the increasing volatility on global markets, partly connected to the uncertainty in the global outlook and major central banks slowly started to tighten policy settings.

Naturally, we get to talk a bit about all the recent sporting action at the end of the show.

You can find the show on iTunes or search “Devils and Details” wherever you get your podcasts. Alternatively, you can listen in below. Enjoy!
