The doors of the Pod 39 Hotel in Murray Hill have officially opened. The hip new hotel offers stylish, clean, economic rooms for $100 to $200 a night. The rooms are certainly not big, but they serve their purpose well if you’re searching for an affordable place to crash for a night or two.

“Each Pod is individually climate controlled and equipped with efficient, stylish furniture that’s designed to  your comfort and your living space,” according to the hotel’s website.

The Pod Hotel in Murray Hill is New York’s second. The first is on 51st Street and appropriately dubbed “Pod 51.”

The Pod 39 hotel has 366 rooms.

The new hotel is on 39th Street between Lexington and 3rd Avenues. It's 17 stories high--here's what the building looked like while it was under construction.

The lobby will ultimately have Ping Pong tables, a fireplace, and couches.

Richard Born and Ira Druckier own and run the hotel, along with 24 others in the city, according to the New York Daily News.

The Townhouse Studio (shown here) allows for an extended stay with a bit more space.

The Pod Hotel has single rooms, like this one, for the solo traveller.

Yup, those are bunk-beds. But at least each comes with its own flatscreen TV.

There are rooms with side-by-side beds as well. The rooms span anywhere from 60 to 120 square feet in size.

The New York Daily News reported the hotel offers more amenities than one might expect, considering the low price point.

The bathrooms all have a smoked glass shower.

The rooms are small, but laid out efficiently.

The roof deck bar serves as a laid-back place for guests to mingle.

The hotel's Murray Hill location provides guests with views of Midtown Manhattan and the East River.

The hotel is located just blocks from Grand Central Station.
