  • Someone uploaded the picture to Facebook, then the internet hotly debated what colour they saw, similar to 2015’s #TheDress debate.
  • The image resurfaced yesterday when musician Lizzo posted it on her Instagram.
  • Some people see a teal and grey sneaker, others see pink and white – but there’s no evidence that what you see determines which side of your brain is most dominant.

Following is a transcript of the video.

What colour are these shoes? Some people think they are teal and grey. Others think they are pink and white.

The image was first shared on Facebook. It has sparked a debate similar to #TheDress. So, what colour are they really?

Photoshop identifies the colour as teal. After colour correction, the shoes become pink. This matches these “blossom/white” Vans.

The difference depends on your sensitivity to light and how your brain is interpreting that light.

It’s also due to the poor lighting in the image.

Answer: The shoes are pink and white!
