International real estate advertising giant REA Group has just moved into brand new offices in Kent Street in Sydney’s CBD.

Gone are the stuffy cubicles, outdated kitchen and bland colour scheme.

The office is decorated in a “home style”, meaning it was intentionally decorated to look and feel like a home, rather than an office. Areas of the office are sectioned into rooms you’d typically find in the home, like a lounge/living room, dining room that overlooks Pyrmont and Barangaroo, a library, a games room and even a greenhouse.

A special innovation hub showcases brand-new technology such as VR, augmented reality, a 3D printer, and new video technology to connect with the Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth and Canberra offices, as well as the Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Thailand offices internationally.

They’ve incorporated agile working, with lockers for staff, standing desks and open spaces for quick team WIPs.

It covers 950 square metres, and was designed by interior design and architectural firm Futurespace.

This setting wouldn't look out of place in a living room.

Moving into the office, it's very open, bright and has accents of greenery around. There are several open spaces for small, quick meetings.

The kitchen was designed to mimic a kitchen within a home. It looks cozy.

A breakfast bar is the perfect place to perch for a snack and a chat.

Decoration in meeting rooms is minimal to diminish distraction from the tasks at hand.
