One of Victoria’s most iconic tourist attractions Kryal Castle is up for sale.
The medieval castle in Ballarat is on the market again after changing hands in 2011 at an estimated price of less than $10 million.
Since then, the property spanning 10.97ha has become a drawcard for tourists with its four-star hotel suites, theme park as well all the features of a bona fide castle.
It is currently being listed with Colliers International who say that “both local and offshore interest is already being fielded”.
It first opened in 1974 and was briefly rumoured to be a potential brothel but extensive renovations have seen the site being transformed into a popular hotel and entertainment facility.

Kryal Castle was first built by Keith and Joyce Ryall in 1972 before opening its doors to tourists in 1974. There are 17 four-star suites, three food and beverage outlets as well as room for functions and events.
The Herald Sun reports that the medieval park was last sold for sold for $1.3 million, significantly less than the asking price of $10 million in 2007.
“Given the growth in visitation and buyer appetite, they now feel the time is right for a new owner to usher this unique property into its next phase,” says listing agent Scott Callow.
It it the second castle to be listed on the market this year following Sunshine Castle in Queensland in January.”
The property is currently accepting expressions of interest until May 12.
