For Minor League Baseball teams it is always a struggle to sell tickets, which leads to some of the more unusual giveaways and promotions.Among the more popular promotions are the use of alternate jerseys for special occasions like the Fourth of July. And the more patriotic, more unique, wackier, and louder, the better.

On the next few pages, we’ll take a look at some of the uniforms that were worn at minor league ballparks yesterday.

The Visalia Rawhide went with U.S. flag jerseys

Hard not to see the irony of the Spokane Indians wearing what is also basically an American flag

The stars across the top of this Arkansas travellers jersey looks like pajamas

At least this stars and stripes pattern looks like a baseball jersey

The Indianapolis Indians apparently didn't get the louder-is-better memo

The Delmarva Shorebirds chose a red, white, and blue star pattern

Which was almost identical to that worn by the Cedar Rapids Kernels

We don't get a view of the front of the Chattanooga Lookouts jersey, and that might be a good thing

The Brevard County Manatees also made use of the sleeves and side-panels to at least keep the pattern in a more traditional baseball sense

The Kane County Cougars went with something a bit more toned down

A few teams, such as the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs, opted for camo jerseys to honour the troops

The Charlotte Knights also wore camo jerseys, teamed with this patriotic cap

And the San Jose Giants went with the less-is-more approach

Now check out the suits future NBA players wore on draft night
