Spain defeated Italy 4-0 to win Euro 2012, the second-biggest soccer tournament in the world. And now that Spain has won the last three major tournaments (Euro 2008 and 2010 World Cup), some are wondering if this is the best team in the history of soccer. But to get there, they had to take down the upstart Italians.

On the next few pages, we will take a closer look at all the action, both on the pitch and in the stands. And how Spain became champions of Europe again.

The venue was Olympic Stadium in Kiev, Ukraine

Soccer players and NBA players have different ideas about pre-game attire

As the two teams entered the stadium, they passed the Henri Delaunay Trophy

And if that wasn't a big enough reminder, there was 50-foot tall replica during the national anthems

A Mario Balotelli doppelgänger?

And the teams were set to decide the champion of Europe

The Italian fans on the other hand, may have known it was going to be a long day

And the pain was beginning to set in

And in Madrid the party was getting started early

Spain narrowly missed chances to extend the lead early in the second half

But the Spanish fans didn't look worried

Nothing went right for Italy

And all the Italian fans could do was wait

And when Spain stretched the lead to 3-0, Spain could taste victory

Does Spain have their own Magic Mike?

And the clock couldn't move fast enough

Not official yet, but a little surprising this isn't in Spanish

But when the final whistle blew Spain celebrated

The trophy was prepared

And Madrid celebrated

Some players celebrated with their children

And some of the Italian players were left in tears

And all that was left was to raise the trophy

Now compare this to what a soccer rivalry looks like in the U.S.
