Daylesford in country Victoria is the winner of the ANZ Bank’s Only GAYTM in the village contest.
The town now has the only GAYTM, an ATM decorated specially for the Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras, outside Sydney.
Daylesford has long term links with ChillOut festival, the biggest and longest running Queer Pride event in regional Australia.
More than 20,000 votes were cast online in the competition.
Strong contenders for the GAYTM were Broken Hill in New South Wales, where much of the box office smash Priscilla Queen of the Desert was filmed, Brisbane in Queensland and Devonport in Tasmania.
The GAYTM will stay in Daylesford for two weeks.
The design is the Pride Flag, a rainbow, built from multiple layers of coloured, laser-cut acrylic to create a 3D effect.
Last week, the ANZ rolled out six all-new GAYTMs in Sydney’s CBD.
