When a network crew has to broadcast more than 150 games in a baseball season, sometimes they have to get creative to fill three hours.Such was the case last night in Arizona.

In the 8th inning, the Diamondbacks were losing 6-0 to the St. Louis Cardinals. Things weren’t going well for the home team, and it was late. The perfect combination for a broadcast to take a left turn.

That’s when the TV crew spotted a couple holding a sign indicating that it was their first date.

That’s when things got awkward.

The cute, young couple was just minding their business. Wait. Is that a heart on the sign he made? And wait. He made a sign?

Uh oh. Text messages start rolling in. Umm guys, you're on TV

Eek. She doesn't seem too thrilled.

Oh boy. Now the TV crew has started a text poll to see if there will be a second date.

Mark McClune tracked down the young couple to ask them how the date is going

And immediately, Brandon announces to the world that his car broke down and that Brittney had to pick him up for their date.

Now the $25,000 question, 'will there be a second date?' The crowd is split.

She says 'Yes'! Although it was more like the 'oh my god, I better say yes because I'm on TV, and I can't believe this idiot put me on the spot'

The last we see of the couple, the TV crew offers them four tickets, yes four, to Saturday's game for their second date. The heart graphic was a nice touch.

Things were a little more exciting in Baltimore
