This is the woman police want to speak to after an Australian flag was burnt at the Hyde Park War Memorial in Sydney on Wednesday.

The incident occurred around 12.40pm and the flag was burnt over the flame of remembrance.

The incident was captured on CCTV. The woman is described as Caucasian, aged between 35 and 45, with light brown shoulder length hair. She was wearing a black and white dress with black long sleeves and ballet flats.

It’s believed the woman stepped into the roped-off area and put the flag on the eternal flame.

“The lady we’d like to speak to was last seen walking on Liverpool Street, near Elizabeth Street and we urge anyone with any information to speak with us,” he said.
