Hong Kong was recently covered in the worst smog ever recorded in the city. It was so bad that residents were warned to stay indoors, reports Asia One.
“This is the worst air pollution reading we’ve seen since Hong Kong started recording air pollution in 1999, except for the dust storm,” said environmental protection department spokesman Y.F. Chau, according to Asia One. The natural dust storm he’s referring to had hit the city two years ago.
Officials said the smog was so bad because of the conditions caused by Typhoon Saola, which had just hit Taiwan.
