A 4.7 metre-long saltwater crocodile was captured by rangers this week in Australia’s Northern Territory.

The beast, believed to be about 60 years old, weighs 500-600kgs and is about the length of a Nissan X-Trail.

Katherine Times journalist Roxanne Fitzgerald took a photo of the huge beast next to a two metre crocodile — and it shows just how big it really is.

To put it into perspective, the croc on the left is about the size of an average-height man.
