Peter Dutton’s electorate office in Strathpine, north of Brisbane, was vandalised overnight.

Four windows were smashed with brick pavers, and two doors have large holes in them.

Police were called to the scene at around 2.20am after being notified by a member of the public.

They believe the “extensive damage” occurred around 1.45am but don’t believe anyone broke into the building during the incident.

The Liberal Party is likely to meet in a party room meeting in Canberra today where it is likely a leadership spill will be called with Peter Dutton, Julie Bishop, or Scott Morrison declaring their candidacy.

Turnbull has announced he will not recontest and leave parliament if the spill goes ahead.

There are still some concerns over whether Dutton is even eligible to sit in parliament.

The solicitor-general will hand down a verdict on that today.

Here’s a look at the damage:

Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident.
