New York City community boards can be brutal. To get the two-story space on West 16th Street, Bungalow 8’s storied founder, Amy Sacco, had to promise not to be a part of the project. The name of the new club isn’t even Bungalow 8 — it’s just #8.But inside sources at Eater say that Sacco’s hands are all over this one, and we can’t say we’re disappointed. Once upon a time Bungalow 8 was one of the toughest doors in Manhattan. Think: Bottles, models, bankers and moguls.

So sign us up for round two.

The New York Daily News reports that #8 was open for a select group of celebrities and socialites this week. The guest list included actress Zoe Saldana, designers Rachel Roy, Bibhu Mohapatra and Prabal Gurung, jeweler Alexis Bittar and fashion and style talking head Mary Alice Stephenson, “who was so grateful for the invitation that she tweeted a thank-you to Sacco.”

An NYDN spy also said that the space was “off the hook gorgeous.”

Excellent.
