The British phone-hacking scandal has officially reached Paul McCartney.
Here’s what McCartney told attendees at today’ Television Critics Association event in response to questions from reporters:
“I’ll tell you that when I go back after this tour I’m going to talk to the police because I apparently have been hacked. I don’t know much about it, but I do think it’s a horrendous violation of privacy, and I think it’s been going on for a long time and more people than we’ve heard about knew about it.”
It’s unclear whether the hacking McCartney is referring to is in connection to ex-wife Heather Mills allegations yesterday that her voicemail had been hacked by a reporter with the Daily Mirror group.
And/or in reference to Piers Morgan‘s revelations (made in 2006) that he had heard the voicemails in question.
Either way, this story is now officially far from over.
