Australian NBA player Patty Mills has been waived by Xinjiang after the team claimed he faked a hamstring injury, AFP reports.Mills was one of the handful of NBA players who were marooned in China after signing with Chinese teams before the lockout was lifted in November.
Kenyon Martin played on Xinjiang as well, but bought out his contract for $3 million so he could return to the US last month.
Who knew all he had to do was whine about a pulled hammy?
“Due to a fake injury, the Xinjiang team has cut the foreign player Mills,” the team’s GM said.
Mills played for Portland last year.
