Path investor Chi-Hua Chien of Kleiner Perkins just dropped a huge hint that a new Path product is on its way. We’re not sure if that means Path is revamping its current app or if it’s working on a new product altogether. We assume the former.

Path, which bills itself as an “online smart journal,” famously revamped its app last November, turning itself from a me-too photo-sharing service to a very distinctive mobile social network, geared around sharing intimate moments with close friends.

Chien had quite a moment himself when Path CEO Dave Morin gave him a preview.

So when are we going to see it?

This is a guess, but we spied Path’s icon on a giant banner Apple hung inside the Moscone West convention centre. That’s the location of Apple’s Worldwide Developer Conference, where Apple is set to make a host of new announcements starting Monday.

Then again, when we recently asked Path for an interview with Morin, his PR rep told us that the company was “heads down for the next couple of months working on product updates.” So maybe he previewed a product for Chien that’s beautiful—just not ready for prime time.
