14 Awesome Cars That Will Steal The Spotlight At The Paris Motor Show

As Paris Fashion Week draws to a close, the beauties of the automotive world descend upon the boulevards of the French capitol for the 2014 Paris Motor Show.

The biennial Paris Mondial de l’Automobile will showcase latest concepts and future production vehicles from the world’s leading automakers. Although concept cars are traditionally the stars of the show, this year’s headliners are mostly hotly anticipated production models.

The 2014 Paris Auto Show will run from October 2-19 at the Parc des Expositions de Versailles.

The Paris motor Show will be the first opportunity for consumers to see upcoming models -- such as Jaguar's new BMW 3-Series fighter, the stylish XE sedan.

As expected, Mercedes will be out in force as well with its new AMG GT...

...and its impressive 500hp AMG C63 Wagon.

Audi will be keen to show off its new TT Roadster -- now with a revved up TTS version that delivers over 300 hp.

BMW's new 2-Series convertible adds open-air motoring to the the vaunted BMW driving experience.

Not to be outdone, the doyenne of the modern roadster will also be present in Paris. Mazda will give the world audience its first live view of the updated MX5 Miata.

There will also be special versions of existing cars, like the more powerful Bentley Mulsanne Speed...

....and the $US300,000-plus Ferrari 458 Speciale Aperta.

Although it's not quite as stunning as a Ferrari, the Honda Civic Type R Concept is a video game dream car come to life.

SUV's will be a big part of the show as well. Everything from Land Rover's new pint-sized Discovery Sport...

...to Volvo's 400 hp turbocharged AND supercharged hybrid XC90 SUV will be on display.

As far as concepts go, the Anglo-Teutonic-Italian MINI Superleggera Vision looks like a miniature Aston Martin.

While the Infiniti Q80 Inspiration concept takes aim squarely at Porsche's Panamera and Audi's A7.

Finally, Lamborghini is set to introduce a mysterious new four-passenger supercar, rumoured to be called the 'Asterion.' The new Lambo is also said to feature a V10 hybrid powerplant. We'll keep you posted when official details are released.
