Following the success of their community bike system (since replicated in London and New York), those lucky Parisian’s are to get another mode of transport.
The Guardian reports that anyone with a driver’s licence will soon be able to take one of the four-seater electric “Bluecars” on short trips around the city. Drivers will have to park the cars near battery stations.
The drivers must pay membership costs of €10 to €144 and fees ranging from €4-8.
The scheme is reported to cost the city €235m but it is hoped that the project will be a convenient and environmentally friendly mode of transport.
