I am stunned because , it is obvious that this was not a well publicized auction.Given the leagues of Star Wars fans, this original acetate crawl that would be recognised by any geek or sci-fi buff on the whole planet sold for a mere $40,000.

The estimates were $15k-$20k which were way too low in this writer’s humble opinion.

Either someone lucked out with the acetate crawl or I am an even bigger fan of Star Wars then I suspected.

This original acetate crawl was used in the beginning of ‘Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back’.

The auction was held at the Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills, California.

I do hope you remember the movie , here is a great trailer put together by another die-hard fan :-

There was some other Star Wars stuff too in the same auction and some of it went unsold. So have a look and try getting your hands on it if you, like me, think these are some excellent investments.
