Anonymous Say They Just Took Down A Number Of Greek Government Websites

Anonymous has taken down the websites of the Hellenic police, the national police force of Greece, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, The Ministry of Civilian Protection and Public Order, and the President, according to multiple tweets. They’re marking the attacks with the hashtag #OpSolidarityGreece:

While we can’t confirm the attack, as of 4:30 p.m. EST on Monday, October 8, the Hellenic Police website, the Ministry of Civilian Protection and Public Order, and the the Ministry of Foreign Affairs all appear to be down. The President’s website appeared to be down earlier but is now functioning.

The AP reported earlier today that “Greek police have increased security and are preparing to close down large sections of the capital Athens to contain protests”.
