An off-duty police officer working security at a Regal Cinema knew something wasn’t right when he spotted a man with a large bag at “The Dark Knight Rises.”Scott A. Smith was arrested Saturday after the off-duty officer asked to search his bag and found a loaded Glock pistol with two fully loaded magazines and three knives, Ohio’s Westlake Police Department said Tuesday.
Westlake officer Jeremiah Bullins approached Smith when he came to the screening half an hour early and sat by himself with the bag, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reported Tuesday.
When asked why he was carrying the weapons, Smith reportedly responded with, “No problem. I’ll put them in my car.” But he was still arrested, according to The Dealer.
“After Colorado anything is possible,” Lt. Ray Arcuri told The Dealer. “When you consider the movie he was going to and what happened in Colorado, you have to wonder what would make him want to bring weapons into that particular film. Our police officer did a great job spotting him.”
Smith reportedly refused to talk to police after his arrest.
