The Occupy Wall Street movement took over Zuccotti Park. Then it took over the Upper East Side on a march to the homes of the 1%.
And now–much like the 1% themselves do during summer months–it appears to be moving east.
organisers are trying to drum up support for an East End rally this Saturday, at Long Wharf in Sag Harbor.
From the looks of it, though, no one seems that interested in Occupying the Hamptons. The rally has just 33 “likes” on Facebook and an unscientific poll on Westhampton Patch shows that 64% of respondents won’t be attending.
For anyone thinking of heading to the quaint beach town to rage against the man, don’t worry–it’s a low commitment affair, unlike the weeks-long occupation of downtown Manhattan.
organisers told Patch that the event would start at 4pm and wind down by 7pm, just in time for dinner.
