A beam signed by President Barack Obama was put into place at the top of New York’s One World Trade centre last week, according to the Associated Press.
Obama signed the beam on June 14, when he and the First Lady toured the One World Trade centre site. Here’s a picture of what he wrote, courtesy of AP photographer Mark Lennihan:
We come back stronger
The beam is also signed by Michelle Obama, as well as dozens of other people, including construction workers and police officers.
Here’s a picture of ironworkers James Brady and Billy Geoghan connecting the beam to the 104th floor of One World Trade Thursday:
According to the AP, the beam will be sealed into the structure of the building, and will not be visible when the construction of the tower is complete.
