President Barack Obama‘s presidential campaign has taken quite a bit of flack for its fundraising emails over the past few weeks, with various news outlets commenting on the gimmicky, overly-familiar tone of the campaign’s pleas for cash.
But the mockery has apparently fallen on deaf ears. The campaign’s latest fundraising email, from Deputy National Field Director Marlon Marshall, is its weirdest yet.
The creepiness starts with the subject line: I can’t believe I’m typing this. And it gets worse with the first line: “I’m so jealous of you that I can barely write the rest of this email.”
But here is the really crazy part: The reason why Marshall is so jealous of you, Average Joe Obama supporter, is because the campaign is raffling off the chance to have dinner with Obama and Michael Jordan.
Talk about burying the lede.
