Oakland A's Are Not Happy With 'Kiss' Blown By Tigers Pitcher

In the ninth inning of a suspense-driven, back-and-forth game,¬†Al Alburquerque of the Oakland A’s got A’s slugger Yoenis Cespedes to hit a come-backer ending the inning and stranding the go-ahead run on third base. But before Alburquerque tossed the ball to first base, he turned towards the A’s dugout and kissed the baseball (see below). And that action has some A’s players heated (via NYPost.com).

A’s outfielder Josh Reddick called it “immature and not very professional,” and admitting that it “got under [his] skin.” Johnny Gomes, added that “the baseball gods take care of stuff like that.” Some might take that comment as a threat since Gomes has never shied away from dishing out baseball justice and doing the dirty work for these “baseball gods.”

The A’s already have plenty of reasons to be fired up, trailing 2-0 in the series. But it will be interesting to see what happens if game three turns into a blowout…
