The Biggest Sovereign Wealth Fund In The World Is Making A Huge Bet On The U.S. Housing Market


Norway has the biggest sovereign wealth fund in the entire world with $612 billion under management, and it’s betting on the U.S. housing market, Bloomberg reports.

The country’s finance ministry mandated that the fund, Norges Bank Investment Management, has to put 5% of its assets and property, and the and wants 1/3 of that to be in the United States.


Yngve Slynstad, the CEO of the fund, said they wouldn’t be taking any major risks, so we’re talking major cities here — offices, malls… that kind of commercial space.
