The specs for the successor to the Nook colour have leaked, and the it appears to be very similar to the original.SlashGear got the details on the new Nook from a tipster.

It’ll be called the Nook Tablet and look nearly identical to the current Nook colour, just slightly slimmer and lighter.

The Nook Tablet will have 16 GB of storage, which can be expanded to 32 GB with a Micro SD card and a dual-core processor from Texas Instruments. It’ll also come loaded with a bunch of premium content apps like Hulu, MOG, Pandora, and Grooveshark.

The Nook Tablet will cost $249, while the Nook colour gets bumped down to $199.

We’re a bit disapponted that the Nook Tablet will be so similar to the current Nook colour. We figured Barnes & Noble would try to compete with Amazon on price and functionality. Instead, it seems like we’re getting the same device with just a slight bump in internal specs.

Barnes & Noble will officially unveil the Nook Tablet at a press event in NYC on November 7 at 10 a.m. Eastern. We’ll be there live to cover the event.
