Nokia Is Struggling To Stay In Business Selling Phones, But It's Already Thinking About Attacking The Tablet Market

A Nokia exec spoke about the company’s upcoming products, adding fuel to rumours that a Windows 8 tablet is on the way.In an interview with the Financial Times (you need a subscription to read it), Nokia chairman¬†Jorma Ollila said the company is working on new handsets and “hybrid” devices.¬†

Here’s the full quote from Ollila when asked about future products from Nokia:

Tablets are an important one, so that is being looked into, and there will be different hybrids, different form factors [handset designs] in the future.

That seems to back up previous rumours that Nokia will release a Windows 8 tablet once the operating system is ready to go. As far as “hybrids” go, we’re guessing that either means a tablet/phone combination like Samsung’s Galaxy Note or a tablet/laptop convertible device.
