Hedge fund manager Todd Meister, mainly know for being Nicky Hilton’s ex-husband, is tangled up in another legal mess with his beautiful Russina personal assistant, Renata Shamrakova.Meister is accusing Shamrakova and her boyfriend, Michael Smaye, for taking out two American Express cards in Meister’s name and racking up to $900,000 in charges on it, which Shamrakova paid off with checks from Meister’s personal bank account, according to the New York Post.

Shamrakova allegedly used the credit cards to travel the world and buy expensive jewelry to resell on the online business she runs with Smaye. Based on their twitter accounts (Smaye’s and Shamrakova’s), it appears the business is called Karat & Ice and is still in operation.

Both Smaye and Shamrakova are accused of identity theft.

Shamrakova’s defence, however, is arguing that she was romantically linked to Meister and the hedge funder authorised all the purchases. Prosecutors, however, are refusing to settle with Shamrakova, saying they do not have enough proof. From the Post:

“Are there texts, are there emails supporting that there was this arrangement?” of romance and cash between Meister and his mistress assistant, the lawyer asked, hypothetically. “Did they go out socially, and can other people say that?”
