New York Times golf reporter Karen Crouse doesn’t want to cover The Masters until Augusta lets in a female member. Here’s what she told Golf.com yesterday:
“If it were left to me, which it seldom is in the power structure of writer versus editor, I’d probably not come cover this event again until there is a woman member. More and more, the lack of a woman member is just a blue elephant in the room.”
There’s a big difference between protesting something and saying you ought to protest something. She did, after all, write about the first round yesterday.
But it’s a good sign that a prominent person within the world of golf is speaking out about the issue.
