Nestlé’s investor relations app – which last week added an Android version to the existing iPad/iPhone version – has attracted around 14,250 downloads, according to the company’s head of IR Roddy Child-Villiers.
Of the total, 14,000 are for the iPhone/iPad app, which was released in October last year to coincide with the company’s third quarter results, while 250 are for the Android version.
It’s difficult to benchmark the popularity of the app, given the lack of comparable products on the market, says David Bowen of consultant Bowen Craggs & Co.
For his part, Child-Villiers says Nestlé doesn’t have any specific targets beyond the original hope it would be useful to investors – ‘which seems to be the case,’ he adds.
The new version of the app can be downloaded from the Android market.
