If you’re just waking up, you’ve already missed a huge day.It started off with hardcore selling of everything. US futures were down about 1.5%, and all the trouble spots in Europe (Italy, French banks, etc.) were getting crushed.
The big news of the morning was that Greek FinMin Evangelos Venizelos had publicly rebuked, in a letter, the referendum plans put forth by PM George Papandreou.
But things are moving fast.
Word is that Papandreou has lost his majority. There’s a good chance that he won’t survive Friday’s confidence vote, meaning the referendum is dead, for now.
So markets have bounced back nicely.
Germany is up 0.75%.
The Dow is pointing up by 20 points.
What a start to the day.
