Apparently Wisconsin GOP senator Glenn Grothman forgot his keys on Tuesday, when he was locked out of the Capitol building in Madison and had no way to get in.
As if that’s not bad enough, a mob of 200 angry protestors followed Grothman as he walked around the building, shouting “Shame! Shame! Shame!”
Eventually representative Brett Hulsey, a democrat, spoke to the crowd through a megaphone telling them to calm down.
“This guy and I disagree on everything, but we’re friends,” he said.
People in the crowd have described the incident as scary. Indeed, the soundtrack of it — including bullhorns and ominous drumming — is enough to make anyone sweat.
That said, Grothman’s comments suggest that he was unfazed by the incident. He said that he was never afraid of being harmed.
“…they’re just mostly college kids having fun,” he told the Cap Times, “just like they’re having fun sleeping with their girfriends on air mattresses.”
Funny, because he calls them “a bunch of slobs” on Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell later that night.
A video of the incident is below; another YouTube video shows representative Brett Hulsey “saving” Grothman from the crowd.
